Interview with Răzvan Cuc and Alexei Curti: The benefits of being part of the RE/MAX franchise
Răzvan Cuc (President of RE/MAX Romania) is a respected leader and a consummate entrepreneur, and Alexei Curti (President of RE/MAX Moldova) is an expert in real estate development with a clear vision of the local market. Both make a significant contribution to the growth and consolidation of the RE/MAX network in Moldova, emphasizing innovation, professionalism and customer satisfaction.
In this interview, we will explore the benefits of being part of the RE/MAX franchise, their perspectives on the real estate industry in Moldova, and the strategies they implement to provide high quality service and stay ahead of the competition. So, get ready to discover the secrets of success in the Moldovan real estate world.
(Răzvan Cuc) – How were the beginnings of RE/MAX Moldova?
(Alexei Curti) "Working for a long time as Crisis Manager, I wanted to do something beautiful in life. I wanted to open a business and go from being an employee to owning my own business, thus changing my thinking and perception. To be honest, it was very difficult, because together with a friend I was in Romania and we were looking for business ideas, at which I decided to try to develop in the field of real estate, even though I had a totally negative impression of real estate agents. Over time I understood that being a real estate agent is very difficult, even if the client is suggested that the result of the agent is a miracle. In fact, the problem is that the client does not know how much work, knowledge and time the real estate agent invests to successfully complete a real estate transaction in Chisinau."
(Răzvan Cuc) – What does the real estate market look like in Moldova?
(Alexei Curti) "I believe that today, our real estate market is in a mature stage. We have noticed that both inside our agency and outside, among other real estate agents, more and more work is being done on the quality of services. Thus, we see a significant increase for apartments for sale both in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova, and I personally know the reasons. So, at the given moment we are in a stagnation, the prices already being increased. Anyway, sooner or later all the problems are finished, and those who will be ready when an economic growth starts, will surely benefit from the results. For example, the increase in prices or even the possibility of investing in real estate at the first stage, the opportunities are many."
(Răzvan Cuc) – Which segment will dominate the real estate market in the Republic of Moldova? Residential versus commercial segment.
(Alexei Curti) "First of all, I think the residential market will develop a lot, because people want to have their own home, a place where they can always relax. Of course, the commercial segment also has a lot of potential, because there will always be different problems, such as the fact that sometimes entrepreneurs need a larger space to develop their business, and vice versa, they want to move from a larger space in a smaller one. In addition, recently rent prices for commercial spaces have risen significantly, which is why many entrepreneurs have come to the conclusion that it is better to buy something on credit than to invest monthly in rent."
(Răzvan Cuc) – Why RE/MAX?
(Alexei Curti) "It is very important to join a brand that already has experience as a real estate agency and from which you can learn. Better to learn something from an experienced comrade than to do something alone. However, the brand gives you a confidence that you belong to something big and valuable. More than that, the RE/MAX brand is also a global leader in the real estate market. It is clear that in addition to this there are also the standards that we must respect and develop, through trainings, education, and last but not least, patience. In a market that is maturing it is very important to be patient, especially. Many do not understand that being a real estate agent is actually a profession, which if you are patient, within a few years you become a real professional. "
(Răzvan Cuc) – Law of the real estate agent.
(Alexei Curti) "There is a bill to be implemented. The first meetings with colleagues in the field were at one of the RE/MAX offices, where we all gathered and already started the discussions, and even shared our experience with the representatives of the Parliament, even if in some places the opinions differed divided. We hope, however, that in the end this bill will be implemented. What's more, a lot of nice things were also proposed in Romania's draft law. For example, it would be good for every real estate agent to complete some special courses and then to practice in a real estate agency, so that they can then be evaluated. In this way, he will understand whether the real estate is for him or not. I also believe that this bill will regulate the market because everyone will work on a contract basis, which is very important for both the real estate agent and the client. And, last but not least, following the implementation of this project, rules will be made on the market, as there will be certain sanctions for those who do not follow the rules."
